Canyoning

Navigating through the Nevidio Canyon is one of the most thrilling experiences in Montenegro.

This unique adventure involves hiking, swimming, jumping into natural pools, and descending waterfalls along the river. It’s organized through tourist agencies or individually.

The package includes transportation from Žabljak to Nevidio and back, guides, equipment, lunch, insurance, canyon passage fees, and a DVD with photos and recordings.

NOTE: The canyoning season depends on the water level of the River Komarnica and usually starts in June. All tours must be organized and accompanied by a guide.

Tandem Paragliding

Tandem paragliding in Durmitor National Park, flying over the Jezerska Plateau and Vražje Lake, offers one of the most exciting ways to experience the stunning landscape.

The whole experience lasts around one hour, with the actual flight time typically ranging from 15 to 20 minutes, depending on weather conditions. The tandem paraglider can carry two people: the instructor and the passenger, who is securely strapped into a harness.

This thrilling adventure doesn't require prior experience but guarantees an adrenaline-filled experience.

Rafting on the Tara

Rafting on the Tara River begins in the most scenic part of the Tara Canyon. Whether you are an experienced rafter or a beginner, you'll enjoy a thrilling ride along the river with spectacular views of the canyon, river, and surrounding mountain peaks.

Along the canyon, you’ll find rocky terraces, sandy beaches, towering cliffs, caves, and waterfalls. After the rafting tour, many tour companies offer additional activities for visitors to enjoy.

Kayaking on the Tara

Kayaking on the Tara River is a fantastic way to experience the river's natural beauty, with its waterfalls, white rapids, narrow sections, and bends. Organized by private entrepreneurs, kayaking is best done during the summer months when the water level is optimal.

Recommended Kayaking Tours:

Bistrica – Kulina – Splavište (II camp): 20 km, 3-4 hours, difficulty III-V; attractions include Crna Poda (black pine forest), Đavolji Lazi narrows, and Strugovi cascades (where kayaks may need to be carried in summer).

Splavište (II camp) – Radovan Luka: 25 km, 4-5 hours, difficulty I-III; notable features include Trešnjački cascades, St. Michael’s Monastery, and the mouth of the River Draga.

Radovan Luka – Brštanovica: 25 km, 5-6 hours, difficulty I-III; highlights include Đurasica cascades, Bajlovića Sige, and Nozdruć cascades.

Mountain Biking

Durmitor offers excellent conditions for mountain biking, particularly on the Jezerska Plateau.

Trails range in difficulty, catering to different levels of fitness and experience. Cross-country and free-ride routes start from Black Lake, and bikes can be rented from tourist agencies or local accommodation providers.

Zipline

Durmitor National Park boasts 25 marked hiking trails, totaling around 150 km, offering hikers a chance to explore unique geomorphological features, such as sharp peaks, valleys, glacial lakes, and ancient forests.

Horseback Riding

Horseback riding is a beautiful way to connect with nature and explore the environment.

Short 2-hour tours or full-day excursions are available. Full-day tours offer the chance to discover the national park's landscapes, with an average riding time of 5-6 hours.

Sport Climbing

Sport climbing is a form of climbing that focuses on technical rock routes without relying on traditional mountaineering equipment, using gear mainly for safety. Durmitor offers sport climbing at Pirlitor, located 11 km from Žabljak, on the edge of the Tara Canyon. The eastern wall is suitable for beginners, while the western wall offers more challenging routes.

Sport Fishing

From May to October, you can enjoy sport fishing at Black Lake and in the Tara Canyon. A daily permit is required, and you can fish for trout, char, and grayling using artificial lures. It is recommended to practice catch and release.

Off-Road Safari

Explore Durmitor National Park's breathtaking landscapes with an off-road safari tour. A popular option is the Durmitor Ring tour, which allows you to visit beautiful places like Piva Lake and the Municipality of Plužine.

Via Ferrata

Located on Uvita Greda along the Sedlo-Bobotov Kuk route, Via Ferrata is a protected rock trail equipped with a safety cable and pegs. The 200m climb is suitable for both experienced mountaineers and beginners. A guide and necessary equipment are provided for your safety.

ATV Tours

For an exhilarating experience, take an ATV tour to explore Durmitor's unspoiled nature and stunning landscapes. The tour lasts about 1 hour, covering 14 km, and is guided for safety and enjoyment.
