The Tourist Organization (TO) of Ulcinj has rated its participation in tourism fairs in Munich and Belgrade as highly successful. These fairs were held almost simultaneously – from February 19 to 23 in Bavaria’s largest city and from February 20 to 23 in the Serbian capital.
At the 55th Tourism Fair in Munich, Ulcinj presented its offerings with a special emphasis on camping tourism, which has become particularly popular across Europe in recent years.
TO Ulcinj highlights that the fair gathered over a thousand exhibitors from 50 countries and attracted around 140,000 visitors.
“The TO Ulcinj booth recorded high attendance, thanks to the attractive offerings of camps and motorhome parks, which were of particular interest to German tourists. Besides TO Ulcinj, representatives from other Montenegrin tourist organizations, including Bar, Herceg Novi, Podgorica, Plav, Mojkovac, Žabljak, Kolašin, and Budva, as well as HTP ‘Budvanska rivijera,’ were also present at the National Tourism Organization (NTO) of Montenegro stand.”
They also highlight that TO Ulcinj's first independent participation at the 46th International Tourism Fair in Belgrade was a great success.
“This prestigious event brought together numerous tourism organizations, agencies, and professionals from the industry, and the TO Ulcinj stand was one of the most visited throughout all four days of the fair. TO Ulcinj director Ćazim Hodžić emphasized the importance of the Serbian market for the municipality of Ulcinj, noting that visitors from Serbia accounted for 17% of the total number of tourists last year, which represents a 2.5% increase compared to 2023. The TO Ulcinj stand showcased numerous tourist attractions, including Ada Bojana, affordable apartments, and hotels.”
Interest in Ulcinj’s offerings was exceptionally high, with many visitors inquiring about vacation opportunities on Ada Bojana, stays in private apartments and hotels, as well as the city’s gastronomic and cultural attractions.
“Special fair discounts were organized, allowing visitors to book vacations in Ulcinj at lower prices. One of the most notable moments of the fair was the organization of a prize draw, where selected participants won free stays during the summer season, further attracting attention and increasing interest in the destination.”
They also noted that special attention was drawn to the presentation of the “Friendship Mundial” event, which has been bringing numerous athletes from across the region to Ulcinj for three years now.
“This sporting event aims to strengthen friendly ties through sports and socializing, and participants had the opportunity to explore Ulcinj’s rich offerings as a destination suitable for sports tourism. In addition to numerous visitors, the TO Ulcinj stand was visited by music and sports legends from the former Yugoslavia, including famous singer Sergej Ćetković, former footballer Zoran Filipović, former basketball player Žarko Paspalj, and singer Peđa Jovanović. They expressed satisfaction with the organization and highlighted the beauty and potential of Ulcinj as one of the most attractive destinations on the Adriatic.”
They emphasize that TO Ulcinj’s participation in these fairs is a significant step in promoting Ulcinj’s tourism offerings, especially considering the growing interest from tourists from Germany and Serbia.
Daily Mail: Ulcinj, the 4th Most Beautiful Coastal Town in Europe
This is a great recognition for the city and its tourism potential and further proof that Ulcinj is becoming an increasingly recognized destination on an international level. This is how Hodžić commented on a reported list by the travel section of the British newspaper Daily Mail, which ranked Ulcinj fourth among the 14 most beautiful coastal towns in Europe.
Along with Trogir, which ranked 11th, Ulcinj is the only town on the Adriatic coast to make the Daily Mail list. The top spot went to Parga in Greece, followed by New Quay in Cardigan Bay, Wales, and then Saint-Jean-de-Luz in France.
Hodžić emphasized that Ulcinj’s rich history, stunning beaches, authentic old town charm, and unique hospitality make it not only attractive for tourists from the region but also for visitors from around the world.
“This recognition further motivates us to enhance our offerings and make Ulcinj even more appealing for all generations of travelers.”
